Animesh Rai leads the monitoring, learning, and evaluation agenda for RTI International India’s child health program in Uttar Pradesh. His responsibilities include developing and implementing quantitative and qualitative research surveys, assessing data quality, and monitoring programs. Mr. Rai has implemented public health projects in India in family planning, reproductive, maternal, neonatal and child health, and other areas.
Working in limited-resource settings, Mr. Rai applies his skills in budgeting, management, and advocacy to some of India’s most pressing and complex public-health concerns. He has managed projects for leading organizations in India, including EngenderHealth, Columbia Global Centers| South Asia, and the National Rural Health Mission, Government of Gujarat. At a high-priority district in Jharkhand, Mr. Rai worked with Columbia Global Center’s model district project for scale-up and implementation of an RMNCH+A program in the district. While associated with the Government of Gujarat, Mr. Rai managed one of Asia’s largest public sector hospitals, Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. He also supported the strengthening of state public health facilities in the capacity of Project Officer.
He holds a certification in project management from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
