In 2022, we tackled some of the world’s most critical issues, creating science-based solutions to mitigate climate change, eliminate neglected tropical disease, close the health disparities gap, improve education and more, making an impact for global good.

Solutions that Serve People

In 2022, we focused on designing science-based solutions to drive equitable health treatments, interventions, and outcomes for those faced with disease and environmental risks.

With USAID's support, lymphatic filariasis is nearly eliminated in Bangladesh, freeing 40+ million Bangladeshis from risk of the disease and related disability.

With Feed the Future support, we are improving access to agricultural services that will reduce poverty, improve food security, and boost resilience among rural communities.

With USAID and local partners, we are scaling market-based solutions that expand sanitation and menstrual hygiene access in Kenya, aiming to reach 500,000 people.

Study results show that childhood immunization in the US considerably reduced rates of infection across all targeted diseases.

Understanding health outcomes and the financial burden of treatments for blood cancers is critical for keeping patients, physicians, and policymakers informed to accelerate evidence-based decision making.

Researchers focus on using technology and native-language interventions to decrease exposure to wildfire smoke and health risks for low-income and non-English speaking people.

Work aims to create a broad spectrum of antiviral drugs that would be effective against entire families of viruses that cause epidemics and pandemics.
