Cecilia Casanueva Accepted into Zero to Three's Leaders for the 21st Century Fellowship

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.—Cecilia Casanueva, Ph.D., a research psychologist at RTI International, has been accepted into the Leaders for the 21st Century Fellowship of Zero to Three: National Center for Infants, Toddlers and Families.
Casanueva was named a Fellow by Zero to Three board members, staff and alumni fellows for her outstanding contributions to the well-being of infants and families demonstrated through her work and for her leadership in the field of early childhood.
Casanueva was among ten fellows selected from more than 100 professionals in the field.
"I am thrilled that Zero to Three is interested in the leadership that RTI can provide to the field," Casanueva said. "I am confident that we will be able to build a collaborative relationship for projects in the area of early childhood mental health."
Casanueva joined RTI in 2007 where she has focused on basic research, prevention and intervention in the field of child abuse and neglect.
She also serves as the adjunct assistant professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Public Health.
Casanueva holds a doctorate in maternal and child health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The Leaders for the 21st Century Fellowship is the nation's oldest national fellowship program for infant and family professionals and policymakers. The Fellowship's overall goal is to strengthen the ability of committed, talented professionals and policymakers to implement policies and practices that promote the healthy development of babies and families.
Zero to Three was founded in 1977 and is the leading non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the healthy development of infants and toddlers.
