Life-Cycle Assessment of Organic Diversion Alternatives and Economic Analysis for Greenhouse Gas Reduction Options

Description
Working with a larger team, we are assisting CIWMB's efforts to reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs) while striving toward zero waste and promoting sustainability by analyzing alternatives for managing organics in its MSW stream. Data and information from this study will inform future development of policies for organics waste management efforts, including such controversial issues as the role of conversion technologies and the use of organic waste as alternative daily cover.
The RTI team will perform a life-cycle environmental analysis of organic waste diversion options and an economic analysis of the options. We will also develop a tool for estimating the environmental and economic aspects of options.
