RTI headquarters campus

Established in 1958, RTI’s main campus is at the heart of North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park (RTP), where the bulk of our history has unfolded. Today, RTI maintains several other offices across RTP, as well as in Raleigh and Durham, NC. In total, our North Carolina-based staff numbers more than 1,900 researchers, technicians, executives, and administrators. Together with the support of our regional and international offices, these staff members conduct and support projects on behalf of RTI’s many clients in government, academia, and industry.

Directions to RTI Headquarters

From I-40 East

  • Take Exit 280 to Davis Drive.
  • Turn right onto Davis Drive at the top of the exit ramp.
  • Turn left onto East Cornwallis Road.
  • Turn left at the first drive onto East Institute Drive. (If you are attending a meeting in Building 08, follow signs to the Building 08 parking deck. Visitor parking is only on the first level, which is accessible from the Hanes Drive entrance.)

From I-85 North

  • Take Exit 172 onto NC 147 (the Durham Freeway) South.
  • Take Exit 6 to East Cornwallis Road.
  • Turn left onto East Cornwallis Road at the top of the exit ramp.
  • Turn right onto West Institute Drive (at the traffic light). (If you are attending a meeting in Building 08, follow signs to the Building 08 parking deck. Visitor parking is only on the first level, which is accessible from the Hanes Drive entrance.)

From I-40 West

  • Take Exit 280 to Davis Drive.
