Consumer Food Safety and Nutrition

Consumer food safety and nutrition research at RTI is conducted by staff in the Food and Agricultural Policy Research program. Using qualitative and quantitative methods (for example, focus groups, in-depth interviews, surveys, and case studies), we test educational materials; evaluate education programs; and conduct research to understand consumer knowledge, attitudes, and practices.

We conduct research for state and federal regulatory agencies and organizations charged with ensuring the nation's food supply is safe, unadulterated, and properly labeled. Our clients include the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration.
