In Memoriam: Former RTI Staff Member Clarence Dillard, Jr.

Former RTI International staff member Clarence Dillard, Jr., died surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 14, at Wake Med Hospital in Cary. He was 85.
A longtime RTI staff member, Dillard joined the institute in 1965 and worked as a programmer/analyst at the Research Triangle Park campus throughout his tenure. He retired in 1993.
Dillard is survived by his son, John Jalal Dillard, and wife, Homa; daughter, Parvaneh Borek, and husband, Jim; and daughter, Mahvash Khorsand. Dillard is also survived by his sister, Thelma Gardner, and grandchildren, Maria Dillard, Adam Dillard, Tory Borek, Jeda Borek and Arman Dillard. He is preceded in death by his wife, Fanoos Ardi Dillard; brothers, Ashley Dillard and William Dillard; and brother-in-law, Ernest Gardner.
A funeral was held on April 17 and Dillard was buried with military honors at New Hill Baptist Church in New Hill, N.C.
