Nanocomposite Membranes

RTI is studying the feasibility of incorporating nanosized particles in polymeric membranes to enable energy-efficient production of purified hydrogen (H2) for use as a fuel. These membranes will have the added benefit of removing gaseous pollutants and impurities from industrial gas streams. We are also studying the feasibility of using nanoparticles to stabilize membrane properties against adverse aging effects.
