High-temperature desulfurization system
RTI has developed a regenerable sorbent-based technology that helps to protect advanced gasification equipment from corrosion and significantly reduces the amount of sulfur pollution emitted to the atmosphere. Dubbed the High Temperature Desulfurization System (HTDS), this technology converts hydrogen sulfide contained in coal syngas into sulfur dioxide, effectively removing over 99% of the hydrogen sulfide.
The process design and sorbent material allow for high-throughput syngas processing, continuous high-temperature, high-pressure operation, and lower capital and operating costs than conventional technologies.
