Air Quality Research: Focus Areas

PM10, PM2.5, and PM10-2.5

We have long-standing experience and capabilities in assisting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with the development and implementation of the nation's ambient air particle monitoring networks for measuring the total particle (PM10), fine particle (PM2.5), and coarse particle (PM10–2.5) fractions.

We provide total network support for all PM10, PM2.5, and PM10–2.5 operations—from sampler setup and training to data processing and management. RTI offers services in chemical speciation of PM2.5 particles and related gases.

We are a recognized world leader in the analysis of PM2.5 filter samples. Our analytical capabilities include gravimetric mass analysis, microscopy, mass spectrometry, and X-ray diffraction.
