RTI International Hosts Policy Forum on Interagency Coordination

U.S. Capitol Building, Room HC-6
Washington, DC

Agenda
8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Terrorism is a complex problem that often cannot be adequately addressed by a single agency. Since 2001, terrorist events and natural disasters in the United States and abroad have highlighted the importance of interagency coordination, as agencies from multiple levels of government have been tasked with new and overlapping responsibilities for public safety, emergency preparedness, and crisis response. Effective preparation and response requires that agencies proactively develop methods for coordinating their efforts and define mutually acceptable strategies and roles. This panel will assess promising practices in the U.S. and London response communities and explore challenges and opportunities to further enhance readiness to deal with man-made and natural disasters.
