Environmental Management Systems
We help clients implement environmental management systems for various operations. We provide economic and environmental expertise in the use of the ISO 14001 speciation standard for environmental management systems as a policy tool. For example, in cooperation with EPA, RTI developed a Web-based computer tool to assist users in assessing the environmental performance impact of their ISO 14001 systems.
We also provide support to agencies and trade associations that are developing outreach and sector-based support for environmental management systems. By focusing on pollution prevention and environmental results, the resulting systems are able to reduce client costs and improve their environmental bottom line.
We provide clients with on-line access to large amounts of site characterization and remediation data via Geode™. Geode is a Web-based data querying and mapping tool developed by RTI that allows instant access to environmental data for use in decision making, analysis, compliance support, and presentations. Authorized users can log in from any location to query their relational databases. Results can be displayed on graphs, maps, or tables, or can be exported for use in other software. Geode also offers interactive mapping, statistics, and document management capabilities.
