Information and Communication Technology in International Education
Information and communication technology (ICT) provides powerful tools to inform decision making, improve education policies and practices for education, and promote lifelong learning.
Program Activities
RTI International uses ICT tools to
-
Support education reform through informed policy dialogue (including online dialogue)
-
Promote transparency, accountability, and broad participation in education management
-
Enable and create demand for information-based planning, monitoring, and evaluation; and improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of education policies and delivery, while increasing access and equity
-
Support the development of a skilled workforce through e-learning, training policies, and activities
The RTI experience in education and policy systems leverages our ICT skills in decision support systems and capacity development. RTI collaborates with host organizations to build capacity in managing education systems and delivering education services. Additionally, RTI expert advisors mentor counterparts to develop their ability to use information effectively and to build sustainable, demand-driven education management information systems. RTI helps build appropriate e-learning systems, ensuring these can be sustained and contribute to lifelong learning.
