RTI International Will Develop Simulators to Train Army Soldiers
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.—RTI is expanding its family of state-of-the-art maintenance training simulators to improve Army soldiers' efficiency in repairing the latest generation of Bradley Fighting Vehicles.
This effort was recently awarded to RTI by the US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation in Orlando, Florida.
RTI will develop, produce and deliver full-scale, high-fidelity training simulators to train the soldiers who diagnose and repair problems with the latest variant of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
"The fast pace of technological change has placed unprecedented demands on the military workforce," said Sam Field, vice president of RTI's training business. "Training the skills needed to diagnose and repair these complex systems requires a faithful replication of the tactical system, both when it is working and when it is broken. Our team continues to advance the state of the art when it comes to meeting these large and complex simulation development challenges through a robust, reusable architecture and cost-effective development processes."
RTI has provided maintenance trainers for the Army's ground vehicles since the early 1990s. This marks the second major award to RTI in this product line in three months.
"RTI's approach to this requirement reflects the latest advances in simulator technology to create a high-fidelity yet affordable training experience," Field said.
RTI will subcontract significant portions of the Bradley effort to DEI Services Corporation of Orlando, Florida.
RTI provides education and training solutions for military, law enforcement, homeland security and commercial markets using advanced technologies that are based on solid science and subject matter expertise. RTI's core competency is bridging the gap between research and practice within the training field, and it offers experts in project management, instructional systems design, visual and functional simulation development and subcontract management.
RTI is also a leader in designing and building high-fidelity virtual reality simulations for training in equipment maintenance and other fields.
