Water Resources: Capabilities

Water Quality Monitoring and Assessment

We have provided technical support for EPA's National Water Quality Reports since the early 1980s. We help produce the

  • Biennial reports under Section 305(b) of the the Clean Water Act
  • National Coastal Condition Report series, a new generation of statistically based national reports for estuarine and coastal waters
  • Wadeable Streams Assessment

We also provide support for EPA's Integrated Reporting Data Systems, which provide the data flow to document impaired waters requiring attention under the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Program. For example, we work with states to build water quality databases based on the Assessment Database application. These databases support a range of water quality programs, including monitoring, assessment, and listing of impaired waters. The databases also provide documentation for the restoration of uses that can be related to state and EPA management efforts.

We perform groundwater, surface water, storm water, and waste water quality monitoring and assessments for commercial and government clients.
