RTI supports education development around the world by using evidence-based approaches to strengthen education policy, management, and practice to achieve measurable improvement in education quality and, ultimately, learning outcomes.
From our well-established expertise in strengthening education systems to our innovative work in assessing and improving early grade reading outcomes, we are improving education quality, relevance, and efficiency at every level – from classrooms to national ministries as well as through contribution to international exchange and scientific and professional publication.
Currently working in more than 20 countries, we lead projects on behalf of the U.S. Agency for International Development, U.K. Department for International Development, Australian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Asian Development Bank, and private funders. We also design and implement projects funded by RTI itself.
Teaching and Learning
Our experts in teaching and learning provide expertise in assessment and monitoring of student learning outcomes, curriculum and materials design, and teacher training and capacity building. Our approaches to measurable teaching and learning improvement promote equitable and universal access to quality education, regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, and physical or cognitive barriers.
We apply assessment and survey expertise to education evaluation, informing the design and monitoring the implementation of our teaching and learning work. In this way, we help national and local governments, as well as the donor community, measure everything from the state-of-learning and management in schools to the impact household and external factors have on education.
Policy, Systems, and Governance
Our expertise and experience in policy, systems, and governance spans education data systems, finance, accountability, decentralization, budget, planning, and management. We apply these wide-ranging capabilities to assist governments seeking to implement national strategies for improving education.
Information and Communication Technology
Our experts in information and communication technology work with local partners to design, implement, and evaluate education and training strategies that use ICT to support management, administration, governance, and quality of education at all levels of the education system.
