Global Reproductive Health and Family Planning
According to the World Health Organization, reproductive and sexual health issues account for 20% of the global burden of ill-health for women and 14% for men, contributing significantly to high maternal mortality rates. Through our program activities around the world, RTI is dedicated to addressing these issues and to supporting the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals of reducing maternal mortality and improving universal access to care.
Our strategies include working with local governments on

- Development of modern medical records systems to support better record keeping and health information management
- Development of strategies to increase resource allocation and effectiveness of reproductive health services

Current Projects
RTI emphasizes programs that address the needs of youth. We have developed approaches and tools to engage parents, religious organizations, businesses, and youth directly to promote youth-centered, reproductive health policies and programs and to mobilize resources for their implementation.
