Conflict Management, Mitigation, and Reconstruction
With more than 30 years of international development experience, RTI has the people, the tools, and the understanding to help communities resolve conflicts, strengthen themselves, and become catalysts for positive change.
We are dedicated to bringing stability and sustainable economic, political, and social growth by building the trust, confidence, legitimacy, and effectiveness of national and local institutions and participants.
- Our people work with governments and citizens to help them through economic collapse, political turmoil, and dramatic policy reversals.
- Our social science analytical tools help to address political, economic, societal, and social drivers of transient states.
- Our understanding that communities in transition have their own specific priorities based on cultural and regional needs is the foundation of our Conflict Management, Mitigation and Reconstruction (CMMR) group.
Our staff are passionate not only about our commitment to help communities resolve their conflicts but also about supporting the development and participation of civil society and improving basic service delivery. We have significant field experience backed by multidisciplinary research and evaluation, and our experienced project staff continuously monitor the effectiveness of the program and adapt our approach to fit changes in circumstance. When a rapid response is needed, we can quickly assemble a team and deliver on time with expected results. Our field-tested operational systems also ensure establishment of effective communication and logistics support in unstable regions.

Our Approach
Our approach to conflict mitigation begins with an analysis of the following questions:

- How can these principles be applied to institutions and practices?
- How do we get there, practically speaking?
