NAIROBI, KENYA – As a signal of its commitment to expanding its international reach, RTI International has opened a regional office in Nairobi, Kenya. The office will better support existing projects in Africa and the Middle East and allow RTI to pursue a broader range of opportunities in that important region.
“Africa is a major focal point for our international development efforts," said Wayne Holden, CEO and president of RTI. "This office will bring us closer to our people in the field as well as provide us with a larger corporate presence so that we can expand our work in the African region."
The Nairobi Office serves as RTI’s African region hub, providing services to more than 33 projects in Africa, including four projects in Kenya. The office also provides decentralized services to improve project delivery.
The office, led by John St. Clair, director and controller of the Nairobi Regional Office, is staffed by 11 general administrative staff members and 19 project or technical staff members. It is located on Westlands Road, in the Westlands area of Nairobi.
The staff members will work closely with chiefs of party and project staff members to streamline and improve support for projects and RTI business activities in the region.
The Nairobi office will also provide human resources, finance, procurement and information technology support services, and may be expanded to include additional functions depending on business needs.
"Having a corporate office with experienced and dedicated staff in the region will result in more responsive and efficient support for our projects,” St. Clair said. “This new office provides a great opportunity for RTI to be nimble and creative, finding new and better ways to deliver successful projects."
