Focus on Mission, People Earns RTI Number 2 Spot on Triangle's Fast 50 List
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. -- RTI International was recognized as the second-fastest growing company in the Triangle area as part of the Triangle Business Journal's 2005 "Fast 50 Awards" program.
While the award was based largely upon financial data that measured performance and growth between FY03 and FY04, RTI President Victoria Haynes attributed the award to the people responsible for that growth and success -- the staff members at RTI.
"RTI does not measure its success in monetary terms, which may surprise some people," Haynes said. "We have been very successful over the years by focusing instead on our mission to improve the human condition, and by doing so, we have been rewarded with exceptional growth and business success. This award is a testament to the many hard-working staff members at RTI who each day have a positive impact on the world through their research."
Among the many highlights Haynes noted as responsible for RTI's success during the reporting period were tremendous growth in RTI's international development business, which relies on a multidisciplinary approach, and the relatively new Partnerships for Genomic and Molecular Epidemiology initiative.
RTI's Chief Financial Officer James Gibson received the award on behalf of RTI at a dinner last evening.
