Leslie Greenwald Elected to National Academy of Social Insurance

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. -- Leslie Greenwald, Ph.D., a chief scientist at RTI International, has been elected to the National Academy of Social Insurance for her work in Medicare program and payment system evaluation.
Election to membership in the National Academy of Social Insurance is considered one of the highest honors that can be accorded a social insurance professional. Academy membership recognizes those who have made distinguished and continuing achievements in the field.
Greenwald has more than 20 years of experience conducting health services research. She has focused her research efforts on a wide range of subjects including health care reform, Medicare payment systems, pay for performance and value based purchasing. She is a lead author of Pay for Performance: Methods and Approaches, published by the RTI Press in 2012.
At RTI, Greenwald serves as a deputy division vice president, project director and task leader for a range of projects related to health care reform, pay-for-performance, Medicare payment, program evaluation, as well as service delivery, cost and utilization analysis. Prior to joining RTI, she spent 11 years at the Health Care Financing Administration (now the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services).

Greenwald received both her doctorate degree in government and economics, and master’s degree in public administration, from the University of Virginia. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.
