David M. Robbins
Senior Water and Sanitation Specialist
David Robbins, working primarily in the U.S., Central America, and Southeast Asia, has more than 23 years of program management experience, providing technical assistance to local government officials and stakeholders to ensure improvement in environmental health, including low-cost wastewater technologies and decentralized wastewater treatment systems for developing countries. Mr. Robbins has substantial field-level experience implementing water supply and sanitation projects in urban, peri-urban, and rural settings in developing countries. He has managed projects in the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka to increase access to and use of improved sanitation facilities. Mr. Robbins has been a strong advocate in the Philippines for policy reform and has provided advice on strategies for improving water and sanitation services to the poor. At RTI, Mr. Robbins develops systems and programs for building local capacity to address water supply, sanitation, and environmental health issues facing urban poor people in developing countries.
