David F. Myers
Vice President, Engineering and Technology Unit
Dave Myers, PhD, is vice president of RTI's Engineering and Technology Unit (ETU). The ETU staff of approximately 165 provides research, engineering, and technology development services to government, commercial, and international clients and is actively engaged in commercialization of these technologies in partnership with industry. Before joining RTI, Dr. Myers spent 16 years in the specialty chemicals and materials industry focusing on new product development, establishing new technology platforms, and building collaborative research programs. Dr. Myers has published papers and obtained patents on colloid and interface science, the chemistry of cement-based materials, and environmental engineering. He is a member of the Cleaner Fossil Fuel Systems Committee of the World Energy Council, the American Chemical Society, and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and has served as a member of the Governor's Task Force on Nanotechnology and North Carolina's Economy. Dr. Myers is also a founder of the Research Triangle Energy Consortium and serves on its operating committee. He currently serves on the board of the Energy Frontier Research Center on Solar Fuels and Next Generation Photovoltaics at the University of North Carolina, and the National Advanced Biofuels Consortium.
