RTI International acquires consulting division of Riverside Technology, inc.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — RTI International has acquired the consulting division of Riverside Technology, inc., an organization based in Fort Collins, Colorado, that provides water resources management and engineering services to clients worldwide.

The acquisition brings together RTI’s proven research and implementation capabilities with the specialized expertise and services of Riverside. The combination will allow RTI to build a hydro-climate research and consulting practice that can offer a broader range of services and technology in integrated water resources management and climate change adaptation planning and implementation.

Thirty seven staff members from Riverside will join RTI as part of this acquisition. The staff will remain in Fort Collins, making it RTI’s first regional office in Colorado.

“Bringing the highly successful and valuable Riverside consulting division within the RTI family will give us the increased capacity needed to successfully grow our business and expand our client base,” said RTI President and CEO Wayne Holden, Ph.D. “Combining these two organizations will position RTI to tackle a host of challenges arising from global water shortages.”

A mutual focus on applying rigorous and science-based methods to complex challenges facing people and communities around the world provides a strong foundation for collaboration.

“We are excited to join an excellent and reputable organization that shares our mission-driven approach and core values,” said former Riverside CEO and new RTI Division Vice President Larry Brazil, Ph.D. “Together, our enhanced capacity will position us to expand our service offerings in the vital arena of water resources management in support of solving the world’s most challenging water, land and climate problems.”
