RTI International Researchers to Present Latest Research at American Public Health Association Annual Meeting

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.—RTI International researchers will present their latest health findings on topics including influenza, climate change, HIV/AIDS and substance abuse, electronic health care and food safety at the American Public Health Association's 137th Annual Meeting and Exposition in Philadelphia Nov. 7-11.
APHA's 2009 conference will address pertinent public health topics, such as pandemic flu, environmental health and health care reform under the theme "Water and Public Health, the 21st Century Challenge."
RTI's health researchers will present 37 first-author presentations and 14 secondary author presentations to more than 13,000 leaders in public health during the five-day event. These presentations highlight significant findings of RTI research conducted with the goal of improving public health.
RTI presentations will include a description of health governance and decentralization in Rwanda, a comparison of sexual risk behaviors between teenagers and adults, predictors of caesarian sections among high-risk minority pregnant women, and trends and disparities in mammogram use.
