Biography

Megan A. Lewis, PhD, is a senior research scientist with over 15 years of experience in both quantitative and qualitative research, specializing in applied social science and health behavior research as well as comprehensive program evaluations. She has unique expertise in health-related interpersonal communication focusing on health promotion and disease management and the use of health behavior theory in guiding research and intervention development. Dr. Lewis is experienced in multiple quantitative methods, including short-term and longitudinal observational studies, experiments, and experience sampling methods as well as qualitative methods such as semi-structured interviewing techniques and focus group moderation. She has worked on public health subjects such as physical activity, nutrition, cancer prevention, HIV, Type 1 and 2 diabetes, arthritis and chronic disease management. Dr. Lewis publishes in leading health, social, and psychological journals, and her work has been funded by multiple NIH institutes, including the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases.
