RTI's combined expertise in environmental science, computer science, geographical information systems (GIS), and statistics enables us to provide state-of-the-art environmental data management solutions for industry and government. These customized, streamlined systems are designed to efficiently store, manage, analyze, and access environmental data from a multitude of sources.
Our environmental data management approach is based on well-designed, comprehensive, and expandable relational databases combined with thorough data validation and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols to ensure that data quality is known and adequate for its intended purpose. We can apply data analysis tools to determine trends and differences in environmental measurements, and we have tools to help optimize environmental monitoring and eliminate costly unnecessary sampling and analysis.
We design innovative, user-friendly, and adaptable information systems to meet environmental data management needs. By emphasizing data quality and accessibility, we help our clients make the most of their sampling and analysis investments by providing the information they need to make confident, well-informed decisions about their environmental management responsibilities and to comply with regulatory reporting requirements.
Capabilities
RTI also prepares system documentation (entity relationship diagrams, database dictionaries, metadata), software user manuals, online help pages, and technical reports. Our training and outreach capabilities include designing training materials and user guides, providing telephone and/or onsite support, and conducting seminars on environmental information systems.
In addition, we offer data conversion services, including manual and electronic data translation, bar-coding, development of conversion tools, and legacy system conversion.
